Asbestos policy

Many clients have asbestos policies that have no reflection on the actual day to day interface with asbestos on their portfolio. A policy that states 'No asbestos will be worked on by any member of staff' may lead to operational maintenance activities being compromised or cleaning activities halted. Clearwater can produce an asbestos policy that meets with the actual needs and expectations of the organization and complies with relevant legislation.

Asbestos management plans

Asbestos Management Plans give the procedural background to ensure the asbestos policy is being adhered to. Development of an asbestos management plan that allows an organization to meets its requirements under law whilst still maintaining complete operational capabilities. Clearwater Environmental develops all its asbestos management plans in direct consultation with the client to ensure the plan is customised to meet the client's aspirations and commitment.

Tender specifications

Production of tender specifications to enable asbestos removal projects to be conducted with confidence in the scope of work required and the safe disposal of the asbestos materials. Our goal is to provide clear specifications with a realistic approach to ensure safe, environmentally sound, cost-effective remediation projects.

Tender appraisal

Independent appraisals of third party tender returns for technical competence and abilities to fulfil the asbestos abatement requirements of any given project. Clearwater will inspect asbestos removal method statements, training records and risk assessments in order to assess the capabilities of any given removal contractor.

Guardians of database information on Client's behalf

With our own asbestos database INSITE Clearwater Environmental is able to provide records and data retention from all asbestos surveys to assist in the on-going asbestos management requirements. Data can also be readily exported and imported to allow compatibility with most market based asbestos software solutions.

Portfolio Asbestos Management

INSITE can also be used to assess the liabilities and future needs across not only individual sites but also property portfolios. Detailed searches are used to identify asbestos risks, specific areas affected, cost analysis of remediation and management. Plans for future refurbishment or demolition packages can be enhanced with detailed information of asbestos in-situ which may affect the proposed works.

Operation and Maintenance Programs

Maintenance and Operation (M & O) programs provide building owners with viable alternatives to asbestos removal. M &O programs include periodic re-inspection and monitoring changes in potential exposures to building occupants. M &O programs can also include training & procedures for addressing everyday response and small scale maintenance related asbestos contact. The program also establishes standard operating procedures to be followed by maintenance personnel who may come in contact with asbestos.
